Mike earned his baccalaureate and then his MA in Economics from the University of Utah, where he graduated cum laude and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. He has lived and worked extensively in Asia, and studied economics and finance for one year at Kyoto University and Doshisha University in Japan as a Rotary Foundation International Graduate Fellow. He is fluent in Japanese.
