Mike Snyder

Mike Snyder is a social entrepreneur and an international economist based in Washington DC and Salt Lake City, Utah. He is the chief evangelist and principal co-Founder of iFEST.
He has most recently served as a senior international manager at the American Chemical Society, handling all cooperative programs for Asia. He has also worked for the US Secretary of Education on science and math education reform at the Department of Education, and has managed international life sciences cooperation at the Fogarty International Center of NIH in Bethesda, Maryland. As an entrepreneur, Mike started Asia-Pacific programs from scratch at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) in 1996 with over $1 million in grant funding from the US National Science Foundation, the John D. Evans Foundation, the Japan-US Friendship Commission, the Korea-US Science Cooperation Center, and other sources. Mike also served over 3 years researching science and technology policy issues for congressional leaders as an analyst at the congressional Office of Technology Assessment.

Mike earned his baccalaureate and then his MA in Economics from the University of Utah, where he graduated cum laude and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. He has lived and worked extensively in Asia, and studied economics and finance for one year at Kyoto University and Doshisha University in Japan as a Rotary Foundation International Graduate Fellow. He is fluent in Japanese. Mike has published numerous articles and presented at numerous conferences on innovation, entrepreneurship, international science cooperation, education policy, and related topics. He has over 15 years of experience leading analytical and program teams to develop and implement landmark scientific, technological, educational, and economic cooperation programs between the US, Asia, and Europe.

T H Iyer

Since 1977 established as Engineering Consultant in Zurich, Switzerland (after several years of experience) in the fields of: Geo Textiles for Road Construction, Environmental Protection, Vegetation Technology, Steel Plant Modernization, Small scale Industries development Have served major engineering organizations in India and abroad in technical/managerial capacities and utilized the vast experience for coordination of Projects, establishing collaborations specially with German firms, and developed a special concept of merging local expertise of India with core technology from Europe thus making Projects technologically efficient and economically viable. Special mention is involvement with TATA STEEL for their modernization projects. He is a founder member of the Indo German Chamber of Commerce, member of the German Business Group in Madras, Guest Professor for the Anna University in areas of Management through GTZ, Director in the Advisory Board of WTC GmbH, Germany. Regularly deliver lectures on technical topics at various Universities & Institutions. He was invited as guest speaker at Rotary Clubs. He has written several articles in technical journals including publishing of a book in German language co-authored along with a Swiss industrialist. Received recognition award from the East Asia Club, Bremen, Germany (as the first Indian to be recognized) and as Consultant and Adviser for technical evaluation of Projects for two large German Banks- Nord-LB, and Bremer Landesbank. Have lived for nearly three decades in Europe, primarily Germany, Switzerland and United Kingdoms. He is presently, settled in Madras, India. He has experience in setting up of Projects in Africa - Tanzania, Egypt and similarly in East Europe - Poland, Czech Republic and Hungary.

Sundeep Dugar

Sundeep Dugar is co-Founder and Counselor for iFEST, based on very early discussions with Mike Snyder that started in India in 2005.iFEST programs would not be what they are without Sundeep's
guidance. He has also been heavily involved with several life science start-ups, most recently as President and Chief Scientific Officer of SaiAdvantiumPharma Ltd., a Chemistry CRO based in India focused on drug discovery and development collaborations. He has also been Senior Partner and Founder of Advantium LLC, (US) and AdvantiumPharmaPvt. Ltd., (India), and Vice President for Chemistry at Johnson&Johnson Pharmaceutical after the buy-out of Scios Inc. in 2002. As the Director of Medicinal Chemistry at Scios, Sundeep was responsible for all drug discovery and development - - he established the small molecule Drug Discovery and Development Program at Scios Inc. laboratories, with 2 clinical and 3 development candidates in 3 years, before acquisition by J&J. Sundeep was also Group Leader at Bristol-Myers Squibb Pharmaceutical Research Institute and Senior Principal Scientist at Schering-Plough Research Institute.

Sundeep is best known as the co-Inventor of ZETIA® and VYTORIN®, two well-known anti-cholesterol blockbuster drugs. Prior to his stellar career in industry, Sundeep was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Cornell University under Prof. J. McMurry, and earned a Postdoctoral Fellowship at ETH-Zurich, in Switzerland under Prof. A. Eschenmoser. Sundeep earned his PhD from the University of California at Davis in 1984, with his Dissertation entitled "Synthetic Approaches to the 6H-Pyrido-[4,3-b]carbazole Alkaloids" under the mentorship of Prof. Bryan Miller. He also earned a Master's of Science in Chemistry from Delhi University in 1980. Sundeep has received numerous awards and honors including:

Girish G Vaidya

Girish joined Infosys as Senior Vice President and Head of Banking Business Unit (BBU) - since renamed Finacle Business Unit 2004 - in Jan 1999. Finacle, the only product unit in Infosys,
saw tremendous growth under his leadership. He was a regular speaker at various international conferences on banking technology during his stint as Head of Finacle Business Unit. He transitioned out of the unit in October 2005 and joined Infosys Leadership Institute (ILI) in Feb. 2006. He looks after Leadership Development in ILI for the entire Infosys Group and works closely with the Infosys Board. Prior to joining Infosys, Girish worked for almost 24 years with ANZ Grindlays Bank .He worked in all the units of the bank and different locations in India and abroad. He was head of Technology for the bank for South Asia. In his present role, Girish is working with the Infosys Board to develop an effective leadership pipeline. ILI which was ranked 2nd in Asia- Pacific (and 10th globally) in Fortune- Hewitt Leadership effectiveness survey is responsible for developing managerial and leadership skills of infoscions. An engineering graduate of University of Bombay, Girish completed his PGDM from IIM Calcutta in 1975 (10th batch).

Rahul Agarwal

Rahul has 13 years of rich experience across business domains and geographies. He started his career with the Aditya Birla Group in Mumbai, which included two years in Thailand as a Business Development executive with the group's international textiles operations. PostMBA, he went on to join consulting major Accenture's Business Strategy practice at their London office. After honing his skills as a consultant, he decided to jump onto the entrepreneurship bandwagon, starting with an Animation Services firm run on a networked outsourced model. Later, he started Infiniti Research, a firm that leveraged India's knowledge capabilities to provide Business Research & Advisory services to Fortune 1000 companies worldwide as well as the Private Equity industry. After an eight year innings in the UK, Rahul sold his company, relocated to India and presently works with Erehwon Innovation Consulting, a Bangalore based Innovation consultancy, where he leads the Operations Innovation practice. This practice focuses on helping clients make orbit-shifting leaps in Business Efficiency, Effectiveness and Productivity. His core areas of interest are: Innovation for Quantum Value; Entrepreneurship; Business Strategy, Ecosystem architecture, Business Model Innovation, Customer Insight, Business Research, Green business, Inclusive Growth.
